Welcome.
I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s be real, life can be messy, painful, and uncertain. We all carry stories of suffering that leave us feeling wounded and broken. You are not alone.

At Real Life Therapy, we believe that struggling is a part of the human experience and so is the capacity to grow, connect, and be restored. We offer compassionate therapy, serving individuals, couples, and families across the Kansas City metro area with an office located in Overland Park and online.

Healing is possible in the safety of right relationship. This requires taking a risk— the risk of allowing ourselves to be seen, our stories to be heard, and to be fully known. Here we commit to holding the realness of what you’re going through in life in a way that honors both your resilience and your pain.

There is no shame in what you are carrying. There is no need to pretend everything is fine. This is a place for real struggles, real connection, and real life.

Focus Areas:

  • Trauma isn’t just about what happened— it’s about what got stuck in your body, your relationships, sense of self. Whether your trauma stems from childhood, chronic stress, abuse, or a single, overwhelming event, therapy can help you safely reconnect with the parts of you that have been in survival mode. Together, we’ll gently process the pain, honor your resilience, and more toward emotional safety and healing— at your own pace.

  • Grief is a natural, human response to loss— but it doesn’t follow a straight line. Whether you’re grieving a person, a relationship, a future you imagined, or a part of yourself, this space welcomes your sorrow, confusion, numbness, or longing. You don’t have to make sense of it alone. Therapy offers a compassionate space to carry what feels too heavy, make meaning, and eventually reconnect with life again.

  • Our earliest connections shape how we experience closeness, trust, and conflict today. If you find yourself stuck in painful patterns— fear of intimacy, difficulty expressing needs, or feeling unseen — it may be time to explore your attachment story. Whether you’re navigating romantic relationships, friendships, or family dynamics, we’ll work to heal old wounds and build more secure, authentic connections in the present.

  • Even changes we choose can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re navigating a new relationship, a breakup, parenthood, a career shift, a move, or an identity transition, these moments can bring grief, confusion, and unexpected emotional waves. Therapy offers support as you reorient, make sense of what’s shifting, and move through transition with clarity and compassion.

  • Anxiety can feel like being stuck in overdrive— racing thoughts, tension, or always waiting for something to go wrong. Underneath anxiety is often a story of protection, fear, or overwhelm. Therapy helps you slow down, understand the roots of your anxiety, and develop tools to regulate your nervous system so you can feel more grounded, calm, and in control.

  • Depression isn’t laziness or weakness— it’s often a response to deep emotional pain, loss, or disconnection. You might feel numb, hopeless, or exhausted just trying to get through the day. In therapy, we’ll create space for your emotional truth, uncover what’s beneath the surface, and work together to restore connection, meaning, and vitality to your daily life.

  • I also help with the following areas: work burnout, chronic illness, self esteem/insecurities, *spiritual issues, people pleasing/boundaries, and support for families navigating addictions.
